Buyer’s Fatgue Is a real thing…..

When one fantasizes about owning a home, those thoughts often include: how you're going to decorate the home, what color would the walls be and where your home office will be located. How will the front yard look and which theme? Desert landscaping for water efficiency? Or lush flower beds with native plants for the bees?

Rarely does financing the actual process of buying a home enters the fantasy. Why should it? It’s the least fun part about buying a home. Yet, it is the most crucial part. Unless you are buying the home in cash, at some point, financing the home is an important thought process to have.

And this is where it makes it a lot more difficult for people to get past and through. If you have never looked into purchasing a home and taken that first leap. It’s incredibly easy to become overwhelmed, the first few go arounds. Why? There are moving parts that the average person would not know you even need or thought of, when buying a home.

We live in age where you can research anything and everything, but still not get all of the information you wanted to find. This is very true with getting qualified for a mortgage. There is so much information out there that, that when I started out in the industry and wanted to know more, I got confused and overwhelmed. I have concluded, the reason for this is because the information is broad and general. The researcher is confused and frustrated, because they didn’t understand the results of the research. BECAUSE IT WAS NOT PUT INTO THEY WOULD UNDERSTAND. The results are not about you and your story, alone.

Allow me to explain. Because that information or results do not or may not apply to the individual, it just sounds like noise. There is no way to understand it, because the star of this story is not abut the person and therefore, not relatable. But when you speak to a mortgage professional, a good one at least. They will explain, not only what you qualify for, but why you qualify for that. If this is different than your goals, what is needed to get you to those goals. Just like anything in life, if you don’t understand the why, you shut down. This is where the buyer’s fatigue come in.

With the right guidance, and baby steps, the information is much more digestible. It doesn’t have to be a hard process. But there is no doubt about it, that it’s a lot. I cannot stress the importance of reaching out to a professional mortgage lender to help put the mortgage journey in YOUR context. You as the star of this show and with numbers and figures that are applicable to you.
